What started out as small loans to help budding entrepreneurs in the developing world, has now blossomed into a small loan program for the domestic market. Perhaps in response to the growing need for small business entrepreneurs to get financing, organizations like Kiva who have historically provided small loans to people in the developing world, are now providing small loans to entrepreneurs at home.

With credit tightening restrictions increasing all the time, it has been almost impossible for the small business market to obtain loans, even the most small. In response, micro lenders are popping up everywhere and providing financing for all kind of enterprises.

The San Jose based Opportunity Fund recently told

Bloomberg BusinessWeek That it's set to offer 30 percent more loans this year than in 2009.

As well as loans from Credit Unions, there are other organizations that are focused on providing funding to the small business person. From authors to restaurants, money is still available for projects.

If you need a small business loan and don't qualify with traditional financial establishments, do a search on Google for organizations providing microloans in your area.
